They attacked sinhala civilians, constantly broke ceasefire, never actually defended any tamil civilians. Eezham people supported LTTE, once, some 30 years ago. When people actually had something to fight for.. When people who fought were all volunteers and not conscripted. What they did in the 2000s to tamil people is what led to that addage about betrayal.. "dhrogatthil valarndha eezham" or something like that. LTTE hijacked it with their media people and changed it's meaning to Prabhakaran being betrayed by MK.
LTTE is and always will be cancer and people who they claimed to protect absolutely hated them by the end. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. Just notice when you're arguing with them.. They'll only talk about 1980s LTTE.. They'll NOT even disagree about the conscription, extortion and abduction on tamil people. But, they will still claim LTTE has eezham's support. Just look up Prabhakaran, who came up with this particular date as maaveerar nal, look up his birthday. That entire week was usually celebrated by the LTTE because Prabhakaran threw himself big birthday parties.. Ask any Sri Lankan guy if this didn't happen.
