அம்பேத்கர் கொலம்பியா பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் படித்த பாடங்கள்

அம்பேத்கர் 1913ல் உலகின் தலைச்சிறந்த பல்கலைக்கழகங்களின் ஒன்றான கொலம்பியா பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் M.A படிக்க சென்றார். 2 1/2  -3 ஆண்டுகள் அவர் அங்கு இருந்தார். அவர் படிப்பதற்கு பரோடா மன்னர் ஒரு மாதத்திற்கு 11 பிரிட்டிஷ் பவுண்ட் என்ற அளவினாலான ஸ்காலர்ஷிப்ப அளித்திருந்தார். இந்த குறைந்த பணத்தை வைத்துக்கொண்டு அவர் 60 பாடங்கள் படித்திருக்கிறார்! வெறும் 10 பாடங்கள் படித்திருந்தாலே அவருக்கு M.A பட்டம் கொடுத்திருப்பார்கள். இது மிகப்பெரிய சாதனை. இந்த சாதனையை பாராட்டி அவருக்கு பேராசிரியர்கள் விருந்தளித்திருக்கிறார்கள். வெறும் வேலை வாய்ப்புக்காக தனது குடும்பத்தை வறுமையில் இருந்து மீட்க அவர் படிக்கவில்லை. தனது படிப்பு யாருக்கு எதற்கு பயன்பட போகிறது என்று அறிந்தே பாடங்களை தேர்ந்தெடுத்து படித்திருக்கிறார். அம்பேத்கரை படிக்க படிக்க மனது வேறு எதிலும் கவனம் செலுத்த மறுக்கிறது. 20 ஆண்டுகள் முன் அம்பேத்கரை படித்திருக்க வேண்டும். மிகவும் வருந்துகிறேன்.
